Broken Arrow Bible Ranch:

Twenty miles south of Gallup, New Mexico, in the rugged high country, rests an old 80+ acre ranch from which a year-round facility for native youth camping has emerged.  This camp reaches out to many tribes in Arizona and New Mexico.

Above all, the campers are exposed to the Good News of  Jesus Christ.

Nestled among ponderosa and pinon pines are:

  • 15 Cabins
  • An A-framed Recreational Facility
  • A Chapel
  • The Lodge
  • Horse Riding Trails, Arena, Corrals and Barn
  • Archery Range
  • Rifle Range
  • Go-Cart Track
  • Hiking Trails
  • Playground
  • Snack Shop / Craft and Game Room

There are many ways that you can help
Broken Arrow Bible Ranch (BABR).

  1. The most important part is prayer.  Please continually uplift the camp before the Lord in prayer. BABR is the Lord's and we want to glorify Him in every thing we do.

  2. We need work teams.  Work teams play an important part in helping BABR;   from painting the horse corrals, to building new cabins, and to puppet shows during camps.  Although most of the work teams come during the summer, work teams are needed all year round.  If you are interested in having your church or group come and help e-mail BABR for more information. .

  3. Volunteer your Services.  We need counselors, cooks, and maintenance help.

  4. Sponsor a Camper.   Many Native youth cannot pay their way to camp.  You can make it possible for them to come by sending a scholarship to cover the camper's fee.  Please e-mail BABR for more information.

  5. Rent the Facilities.  BABR is available for your use during non-camping seasons.

    • Retreats year around
    • Family Reunions
    • Conferences
    • Banquets
    • Seminars

  6. Financially Support the Ranch - This is a matter we leave to the Lord, we make the needs known in order for you to be able to help with them.

If you would like to donate to a specific need, please indicate which project you wish to support.  Any funds designated for BABR without being marked for a specific need is placed into the general fund of BABR.

Perhaps you or your church would like to add BABR to your missionary budget.

Adrian Pete

Adrian PeteBroken Arrow . . . a camp that fills me with joy, happiness, gentleness, wisdom, and strength, yet also entails tears, sufferings, trials, and barriers which help me understand God's glory and will.  I was saved here. This is my birthplace, my shelter, my home, and every chance I get to come back, I take it.  The power within this camp is wordless; only God can explain.   I pray this reaches someone who needs to know God.

Jacob Gonzales

Jacob GonzalesMy first summer at Broken Arrow Bible Ranch was in 1994.  My expectations were not very high, but the experience was life-changing. That summer, God, by His grace, allowed me to make a difference in people's lives.  I realized the gift that God had given to me to minister the Gospel of Christ.  I rededicated my life to Christ that summer, and I can say because of His strength, I have not turned back.  Two summers later once again serving God at Broken Arrow, I found myself in a relationship with a girl that I today call my wife.  In fact I also proposed to her at Broken Arrow Bible Ranch that following winter.  BABR has changed my life considerably forever.

Casey Dooley

Casey DooleyBroken Arrow Bible Ranch has helped mold me into the person I am today.  I feel that God has prepared this camp to work in the hearts of everyone, including me.  BABR has given me the opportunity to learn who God is and why He's so important in my life.  The speakers, workers, and staff have all helped in my understanding of who God is.  I relish the time that I have spent in the mountains with God.  I believe that BABR has a special place in the hearts of all who come.  God is in the midst of the camp and uses the beauty to relay His Majesty.  Every time I come onto this land, I feel the presence of God and His willingness to teach me.  BABR is where I fell in love with God, and I return each year to help others do the same.  I hope this camp is blessed as much as I have been blessed by being here.

Dino Butler

I first became involved in short-term summer missions at Broken Arrow Bible Ranch when I was in high school in 1984.  I was a wrangler for a summer and a counselor for three years after that.  In the last six years the Lord has given me the opportunity to return to BABR as a camp speaker.

I thank God that He provided BABR, to give me the tools I've needed to grow in my Christian life.  When I was growing up on the Navajo Reservation, the opportunities to work with other young Native believers were nonexistent.  Getting involved at BABR gave me hope that there were other Navajo young people who desired to serve God.  The four years I spent there helped me to see God's plan for my life.  Later, I saw God use what I had learned at BABR to shape what I did in college.  I got involved with campus ministries all four years.

In the spring of 1993 I was invited to be the speaker for a week of junior camp.  It blessed me tremendously, and we saw the Lord bring several campers to Christ.  I was invited back the next year, and for the last four years I have  been the speaker during teen camp.  It is wonderful to see young people open themselves to the restoring work and love of Jesus Christ.  It reminds me of when God allowed a young Navajo teen to come to BABR to serve Him, to be taught by Him, and to obtain a vision of service for Him.  I thank God for the role that BABR has played in providing me the opportunity to serve Him.

As the leader of the work team from First Baptist of Redondo Beach in our second year at BABR (Broken Arrow Bible Ranch), we are thrilled to tell you about what the camp has meant to us.

First of all, we came out here because
Steve Knox played an important part in my teen life.  He was my youth pastor, and Steve's commitment to Christ and example influenced me greatly.  I always said that wherever God would lead me into the ministry as a youth pastor, it would be my desire to come to BABR with a work team.

Now my dream has come true – here I am with my youth group because Steve was my reason for being a youth pastor.  It's wonderful to see the evidence of  how God multiplies our faithfulness to Him.
